Description

Changing Times: Cohesion and Empathy

This workshop will explore the impact of changing times on equality in the UK and will draw together different perspectives exploring what can be done to move towards a positive future.

Ila Chandavarkar will be facilitating a discussion focused on social cohesion and how our perspective on empathy may have been impacted during recent changing times. She will be joined by Loui Williams who is currently at Newnham College completing an MPhil in Gender Studies which includes a dissertation on the vulnerability of masculinity in the homeless community.

Ila was a founding member of Voice4Change England (advocacy group for the Black and Minority Ethnic voluntary and community sector). Loui volunteers at Jimmy’s Night Shelter, Wintercomfort Play Centre and is a member of the management committee of the Cambridge Homeless Outreach project.
